Why should I bother?
Q: What is Teach the Dog?
A:
Teach the Dog offers you the opportunity to discuss what you want to achieve with your dog and we provide the answers in the form you desire - you can do it all yourself or let us take the strain and train your dog either with you or whilst you're away.
Q: Which behaviours can we help with?
A:
There are many behaviours that are dealt with - some you want to actively encourage such as walking to heel, recall or retrieval and others need to be discouraged; aggression, barking, nervousness and more.
Q: What methods do we use?
A:
We actively encourage reward based positive training, however, not all dogs are the same and some respond better to other methods. During initial consultation with you and your dog, certain aspects of your lifestyle and attitudes are assessed and this aids us in creating the right type of training programme for your dog.
Q: Staff
A:
Our staff are trained pet psychologists with various achievements under their belts. They've been working with dogs all their lives and between them there isn't a problem they haven't seen. They're approachable and adaptable so they can really work with you to achieve your ideals.
Q: Prices
A:
Initial consulatation is £40 after which you can opt for a written/email evaluation and programme of sessions for you to complete yourself or we can conduct the training ourselves for a fee. It's up to you.
Q: Why should I bother?
A:
Having a well behaved dog can be an absolute joy but having a badly behaved pooch can grate on the nerves and cause endless arguments. Having a trained dog means you won't have to shell out on vet bills when he escapes, or paying for costly chewed items or paying off the postman for the unfortunate bite. It doesn't take a lot to start the ball rolling and begin to enjoy your pet -
